The Rod Holders are 2-1/2 feet long. The ruler in the picture is a 12 inch scale. We will be substituting a yard stick in the future. The holders are easily hand inserted approximately 11 in. into the sand (much easier than PVC tubes.) The aluminum rods have slight bending flexibility, and this maintains the line tension when the fish hits. Unlike the PVC tubes.
